## JennAir models, by number: what goes wrong on each.

Find your number below, or read where to find it on the unit. Each page says what that machine is, what tends to go wrong with it, and what the work costs here.

153 — models people ask about by number

3 — counties covered end to end

OEM — parts available on order

from $95 — diagnostic, credited to the repair

## The numbers people ask us about

Each page lists what owners of that model actually search for, what the machine is, and where those symptoms usually lead.

No model pages published yet. Call [(305) 745-7213](tel:+13057457213) with the number from the data plate.

## Where the model number is on your unit

It depends on the appliance. Inside the fresh food compartment on a refrigerator, usually high on the left or right wall. On the edge of the door on a dishwasher. On the frame inside the door on a wall oven or a range. Behind a filter on a hood. Inside the door frame on a microwave, a washer or a dryer. Behind the grille at the bottom on an undercounter cabinet, and inside the door frame on a wine cellar.

Take a photograph rather than writing it down. The full number includes the letters after the digits — those decide which parts fit, and they are the part people misread most often.

## Or start from the symptom

If you do not have the number to hand, start from what the unit is doing. Every symptom page says what to check first and when it stops being a five-minute job.

## This is a list of what people ask about, not of what we repair.

153 numbers have pages here because those are the ones people search for by number. We work on the rest of the range as well — the pages simply follow demand rather than the catalog.

Tell us the number from the data plate and what the unit is doing, and we will tell you what the machine is, what the symptom usually points at, and what the work involves. **Call [(305) 745-7213](tel:+13057457213)**, or send a photograph of the plate through the form above.

## Questions about models and parts

Is a twenty-year-old unit still worth repairing? — Usually, yes. These were built to be repaired, and a legacy cabinet in good condition with sound cabinetry is worth keeping. Where it stops being worth it is when the work approaches what the unit is worth, or when a second major failure is already visible — and we will say so on the visit rather than after.

Can you still get parts for the older units? — For most of what fails, yes — OEM parts are available on order, though legacy parts can take a few days to source. That is why we confirm a part is the problem before ordering it rather than after.

Why do you not list the specifications for each model? — Because we cannot verify them. Capacity, dimensions and production years published second-hand are wrong often enough that a table of them would be a liability, and inventing one would break our own rule about publishing only what we can stand behind. What we do publish is what the number means for the repair.

The number on my unit has letters after it. Does that matter? — Yes, for parts. The digits identify the family; the letters identify the configuration, and two units sharing the same digits can take different components. Photograph the whole plate and we will read it from there.

Do you work on the current range as well? — Yes, the whole current range. These pages exist because a number is what people search by; everything else this maker sells is covered on the appliance pages.

## What a JennAir model number decides, and what it does not

### The last letter is the finish, and it changes the part

On this badge the design expression is written into the model number, at the end. **L** is RISE, the stainless one; **M** is NOIR, the black stainless one; **X** is panel-ready, the one that arrives without a front because your kitchen fitter is making it. JUGFL242HL, JUGFL242HM and JUGFL242HX are the same 24-inch undercounter refrigerator three times, and a door part ordered from the wrong one of them fits the opening and looks wrong in the room. That single character is the half of the number people leave off when they read it out.

### And the letter before it is often the hinge

Refrigeration columns and undercounter units are handed. JB36NXFXLE and JB36NXFXRE are one 36-inch built-in bottom-freezer with the door swinging opposite ways, and JBRFL36IGX is a left swing where JBRFSR30RX is a right. A hinge, a gasket or a door that has to be ordered rather than adjusted is ordered against that letter, not against the family.

### Why the number matters more here than on most badges

The error codes on this equipment are not this badge’s alone. JennAir, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag and Amana are one corporation running one control platform, and the F-and-E table is shared between them. A code tells you which system reported and almost nothing about which machine you own. The model number is what closes that gap, which is why it is the first thing we ask for and the first thing any parts counter will ask for.

### Where the plate is on equipment that is built in

Almost nothing in this line stands on the floor, so the plate is almost never where a freestanding appliance keeps it. On refrigeration it is behind the grille above the doors, on the left of the opening, or inside near the top of the fresh-food compartment. On a dishwasher it is on the edge of the door, visible only with the door open, and on a fully integrated one you are reading it behind your own cabinet panel. On a wall oven or a range it is on the door frame behind the door, or under the control panel. On undercounter and drawer units it is inside the door opening. Photograph the whole plate rather than copying it out: the characters run together and one wrong one changes which parts fit.

### This list is what people ask about, not what we repair

There are 153 numbers with pages here across nine appliance types, because those are the numbers people search for. The line is larger than that and we work on the rest of it too — the pages simply follow the questions. If your number is not on this list, it does not mean the machine is not ours to look at.

## Send the plate, and what it is doing.

A photograph of the data plate and a line about the symptom is enough for us to say what is likely and what it should cost.
