JennAir griddle & grill zone repair
The chrome-infused griddle or the gas grill let into the middle of the cooktop, with its own control and its own sensor. Good news when it goes: the rest of the range keeps working, and nothing about the ovens underneath is involved.

01
Establish what the zone is doing
Not heating at all, heating unevenly, or not holding a set temperature. Those are three different parts and the difference is visible in five minutes with a surface thermometer.
-
02
Its own control and its own sensing
The griddle and the grill are separate heated zones with dedicated controls. That means the diagnosis does not touch the burners, and a problem here says nothing about the rest of the appliance.
-
03
Measure across the plate
A griddle that is hot in the middle and cool at the ends is a different diagnosis from one that is uniformly cold. Temperature is taken at several points rather than one.

04
Leave the range usable
If a part has to come, the burners and the ovens are checked working and left working. Almost nobody has to lose the whole range over this.

Professional-style · Dual-stacked burners · Induction · Slide-in · 30" · 36" · 48" JennAir range repair in Miami
Thirty machines in the current line and the most expensive thing in most of these kitchens. Dual-fuel and gas professional ranges with dual-stacked burners, a chrome-infused griddle or a gas grill built into the top, the first induction professional-style range this maker has built, and the slide-ins. A 48-inch range is two ovens, six burners and a griddle in one appliance, and any one of those can be the reason you called.
- A burner that clicks and will not light, or lights and will not hold
- The oven running hot, running cold, or not heating at all
- The door locked after a self-clean and staying locked
-
Induction · Radiant · Gas · Downdraft · Rangetops · Euro-Style · 30" · 36" · 45" · 48" JennAir cooktop repair in Miami
The widest row on this site: thirty-nine cooktops and fourteen professional rangetops, which are the same repair under a different word. Induction, radiant glass, sealed gas, and the downdraft cooktops that pull the steam down through the counter instead of up into a hood — an idea this maker invented and still sells.
- One induction zone cutting out while the rest keep going
- A gas burner clicking without lighting, or lighting and dropping out
- A downdraft that runs but no longer pulls

About JennAir griddle & grill zone repair
Why this is its own page
On this make the griddle and the grill are not accessories laid over a burner. They are heated zones built into the cooktop with their own controls and their own sensing, on ranges and rangetops from 36 inches upward. That has a practical consequence worth knowing before you call: a problem with one of them is contained. It does not implicate the burners, it does not implicate the ovens, and it does not usually stop you cooking while it is dealt with.
What goes wrong
- The element or burner for that zone, showing as no heat or uneven heat.
- The control for the zone, showing as a plate that will not hold the temperature it is set to.
- The sensor, which is what a zone that overshoots and then sits low is telling you about.
- The grease path on a grill, which is maintenance and is the commonest reason one stops behaving.
What it costs
From $215. A cleaning and a control adjustment is the bottom; an element with the cooktop opened is the top. Cosmetic plate replacement is quoted separately and only after availability is confirmed.

Questions about JennAir griddle & grill zone repair
Can I keep using the range while this is fixed?
Almost always, and it is the best thing about this repair. The griddle and the grill are separate circuits let into the middle of a cooktop that is otherwise fine, so the burners and the ovens carry on. We check and confirm that before leaving if a part has to be ordered.
The griddle is hot in the middle and cold at the edges.
That points at the element or its distribution rather than at the control, and it is a useful thing to have noticed. A zone that is uniformly cold is usually the control or the sensor; one that is uneven is usually the heating itself.
Is the chrome surface repairable?
Cosmetic damage to the plate itself is a replacement rather than a repair, and availability is checked before anything is promised — it is model-specific. Heating and control problems underneath it are ordinary repairs and are what this page is mostly about.
My grill smokes far more than it used to.
Usually the grease path rather than the burner: the tray, the channels and whatever is under the grate. Worth cleaning thoroughly before booking, because a good share of "the grill is not working properly" calls are that. If it still smokes with everything clean, the burner itself needs looking at.
