Power down properly
A full minute with the breaker off, not the switch and not the panel. A control locked up after an outage frequently comes back, and South Florida supplies plenty of outages.

Rule out a lock
Most of these appliances have a control lock, usually a press-and-hold on one pad, and a locked panel is indistinguishable from a dead one. It is checked before anything else is considered.

On these platforms there is a user interface, a main control and often a further board, with a network between them, and any of them can be the reason the panel is unresponsive. Was it a power surge?
We will not tell you that, because we cannot know it and nobody who sells surge protection can either. No manufacturer or regulator source connects Florida storms to this maker's electronics.
