Establish what the machine is actually doing

Two jobs in one row, and why
A dishwasher that will not start has an electronic reason or a mechanical one, and from the kitchen they look identical. The control side is the touch panel, the board and the wiring between them. The door side is springs, cables, hinges and a latch that the machine treats as a safety interlock. Both end with the machine not running, so both are diagnosed on the same visit rather than guessed at over the phone.
What paneled fronts change
Most of the dishwashers on this make are fully integrated or panel-ready: the controls are hidden along the top edge of the door, and the front is your own cabinetry. That has two consequences. You cannot see whether anything is lit without opening the door, which is why "it is completely dead" is so often not. And the door carries more weight than a factory front, which is why the springs, the cables and the alignment are a larger part of this job here than on a stainless machine.

The panel lights up but nothing responds.
Try a control lock first — most of these machines have one and it is usually a press-and-hold on a specific pad. Then a full minute at the breaker. If neither brings it back, it is the touch panel or the board behind it, and those are two different parts with the same symptom.
The door drops instead of easing down.
That is the springs or the cables that carry it, and on a machine with a solid cabinet panel on the front they are carrying more weight than the factory door they were sized for. It is a mechanical repair rather than an electronic one, and it is worth doing before the hinge takes the damage instead.
It will not start and the door seems shut.
Seems is doing work in that sentence. These machines will not run without the latch telling them the door is properly closed, and a door held a fraction open by a panel that has shifted looks perfectly shut from the kitchen. That is a common and small repair.
