A number, then a decision
Nearly every oven complaint is about temperature, and nearly every one starts with the same question: what is the cavity actually doing? A thermometer in an empty oven at two different settings separates a free calibration adjustment from a cheap sensor from a moderate element in about half an hour. Doing it in that order is what stops a part being ordered for a setting.
Self-clean, and why it is asked about
A pyrolytic cycle holds the cavity far above cooking temperature for hours and it is the hardest thing an oven ever does to itself. Failures cluster around it — not because the cycle is dangerous but because it is the appliance's hardest day. If a thermal cut-out has opened, something drove the temperature past where it should have gone, and replacing the cut-out without finding that is doing the job twice.
Where the figure comes from
A sensor is the bottom of this band and it is a genuinely cheap part. An element or a latch on a built-in oven in a tall housing is the top, and the difference between them is mostly the access rather than the component. The exact cost is confirmed after the on-site diagnostic.

Why does a wall oven cost more than a range oven?
Access, and only access. The parts are much the same. A wall oven has to come out of a tall cabinet opening and go back leveled and secured, and that is the half of the appointment that is not the repair.
The door has been locked for hours.
Possibly still cooling — the lock is a temperature interlock rather than a timer. If it is cold to the touch and still locked, that is the latch mechanism and it is priced here. Do not force it: forcing a locked oven door turns a latch job into a door job.
My oven is 25 degrees out. Is that a repair?
Try the calibration adjustment first — it is a setting, it is free, and it is what it exists for. If the oven is out by different amounts at different temperatures, that is the sensor, and it is one of the cheaper parts on the appliance.
